Rising Stem Resilient Gate Valve
Rising Stem Resilient Gate Valve is a full-bore soft-sealing shut-off valve widely used in above-ground water pipelines, pump rooms, water treatment plants and open valve chambers. Its defining characteristic is the visible rising stem: as the valve opens, the stem extends upward visibly, allowing operators to directly judge the opening degree at a glance. Equipped with an integrally vulcanized rubber wedge gate, it delivers bubble-tight zero leakage shutoff. This valve is only for full open or full closed cut-off, not for flow throttling.
Working Principle
Rotating the handwheel drives the threaded stem to lift or lower the wedge gate. The stem moves axially up and down together with the gate, so its exposed height intuitively shows how open the valve is. When fully closed, the elastic EPDM rubber coating on the wedge tightly presses against the valve body sealing surface under fluid pressure, forming a flexible soft seal to completely block liquid flow. When fully open, the gate rises into the bonnet cavity, creating an unobstructed straight-through full bore channel with low flow resistance and no sediment accumulation dead zone. EPDM packing at the bonnet top prevents medium leakage along the stem, and internal guide ribs stabilize the gate to avoid jamming during operation.
Key Features & Advantages
Visible rising stem design enables real-time visual check of valve opening position, convenient for operation and inspection without extra detection tools.
Full resilient rubber wedge achieves reliable tight sealing with zero dripping leakage, meeting drinking water safety standards.
Straight full bore passage reduces fluid resistance, cuts pump energy consumption and avoids sludge buildup inside the valve cavity.
Ductile iron valve body with internal and external fusion bonded epoxy coating offers excellent anti-rust and anti-corrosion performance.
Simple internal structure with fewer wearing parts, easy to disassemble, inspect and conduct on-site maintenance.
Supports horizontal and vertical installation, suitable for above-ground pipelines and open valve chambers with sufficient vertical space.
Stainless steel stem and fasteners resist rust and abrasion, extending overall service life under long-term continuous operation.
Main Materials
Valve body and bonnet are cast from high-toughness ductile iron, fully coated with epoxy powder both inside and outside to resist moisture and medium corrosion. The wedge gate takes ductile iron as the base, fully vulcanized with food-grade EPDM elastic rubber for great elasticity, wear resistance and anti-aging performance. The lifting stem is made of stainless steel to prevent rust and scratch during frequent opening and closing. EPDM packing is used for stem sealing, and all connecting bolts and nuts adopt stainless steel to avoid rust seizure.
Technical Specifications
Nominal diameter ranges from DN50 to DN1200 to meet various pipeline flow demands. Standard pressure ratings include PN10 and PN16; PN25 high-pressure versions are available for customization. Flange connections comply with international general standards for seamless matching with standard pipe fittings. Applicable medium temperature covers -10°C to 70°C. Suitable media include municipal tap water, sewage, agricultural irrigation water, industrial circulating neutral water and fire-fighting water. Every finished valve passes strict shell strength and sealing hydraulic pressure tests before delivery to guarantee stable performance.
Application Fields
Rising Stem Resilient Gate Valve is widely adopted in above-ground municipal water supply pipelines, water treatment workshops, pump station equipment matching, factory circulating water systems, fire-fighting pipe networks and residential overhead water pipelines. It is the optimal choice for projects requiring clear visual opening indication and enough vertical installation space.
