1. Product Overview
Rising Stem (RS) Resilient Seated Gate Valve is a popular soft-seal isolation valve used for above-ground pipelines, pump rooms, water plants and open valve chambers. Unlike non-rising stem types, its valve stem extends upward visibly when opening the valve, offering direct visual confirmation of open/closed position at a glance. Equipped with an integrally vulcanized EPDM rubber wedge, this valve delivers bidirectional zero leakage and fully meets sanitary standards for potable water. It is the preferred shut-off valve for installations where real-time flow status monitoring is required.
2. Working Principle & Structure
The stem features external exposed threads outside the bonnet.
Opening: Turn the handwheel counterclockwise. The stem rotates and moves upward, lifting the rubber wedge fully out of the flow path. The exposed rising stem clearly shows the opening degree.
Closing: Rotate the handwheel clockwise to lower the stem and wedge. The elastic EPDM lining on the wedge presses tightly against the valve body sealing surface to form bubble-tight sealing.
Multi-layer graphite and rubber packing inside the bonnet prevents medium leakage along the stem during long-term operation.
External thread design allows easy lubrication and inspection, reducing jamming risk caused by rust or sediment.

Sealing Wedge: Ductile iron substrate with fully vulcanized food-grade EPDM rubber, high adhesion, wear resistance, self-compensating sealing for minor abrasion.
Valve Stem: Stainless steel 2Cr13 / SS304, anti-rust, high tensile strength, smooth lifting movement.
Packing & Gaskets: Aging-resistant elastic rubber packing, stable sealing performance under temperature fluctuation.
