Resilient seated gate valve is a full bore soft-sealing shut-off valve widely used in water supply, drainage, irrigation and general industrial fluid pipelines. Different from metal hard-sealed gate valves, its wedge gate is fully coated with elastic rubber, achieving bubble-tight zero leakage under rated pressure. It serves only for fully open or fully closed cut-off, not for flow regulation.

Two mainstream types are available: NRS (Non-Rising Stem) and RS (Rising Stem). The internal flow channel is straight through without shrinkage, creating minimal flow resistance and preventing sediment buildup inside the valve cavity. It can be buried underground or installed in valve chambers, with stable performance for long-term continuous operation.

Working Principle

When turning the handwheel, the internal wedge gate moves vertically up and down to control fluid passage. When closed, the vulcanized rubber layer on the gate closely presses against the sealing surface of the valve body under medium pressure, forming a flexible soft seal to completely block liquid flow. When fully open, the gate retracts into the upper bonnet cavity, leaving an unobstructed straight passage to reduce energy loss of pipeline pumps.

Stem packing and sealing rings are arranged at the top of the bonnet to stop medium leakage along the stem. Built-in guide ribs limit lateral deviation of the gate during movement, ensuring smooth opening and closing without jamming.

Main Material Introduction

Valve body and bonnet adopt high toughness ductile iron, processed with fusion bonded epoxy powder coating to resist soil, moisture and medium corrosion. The wedge gate takes ductile iron as base material, with EPDM rubber vulcanized on the whole surface, which is elastic, non-toxic and suitable for potable water systems. The valve stem is made of stainless steel to resist rust and abrasion, matched with EPDM packing for reliable stem sealing. All connecting bolts and nuts are stainless steel to avoid rust locking after long-term service.

Technical Specifications

Nominal diameter covers DN50 to DN1200 to satisfy different flow requirements. Standard pressure ratings are PN10 and PN16; PN25 high-pressure version can be customized. Flange connection complies with universal international standards for easy matching with pipeline fittings. Applicable medium temperature ranges from -10°C to 70°C. Suitable media include municipal tap water, sewage, irrigation water, circulating industrial water and other neutral low-corrosion liquids. Each valve undergoes strict shell and sealing hydraulic pressure tests before factory delivery to guarantee structural strength and sealing performance.

This resilient seated gate valve is the standard cut-off equipment for municipal water supply networks, urban buried drainage pipelines, farmland irrigation projects, pump station matching pipelines, water treatment plants, residential building water supply and fire-fighting water systems.
