Elastic Seat Gate Valve
Elastic Seat Gate Valve, also named resilient seated gate valve, is a full-bore soft-sealing shut-off valve specially developed for water pipeline systems. Its core design is an integral wedge gate entirely covered with elastic rubber lining, which realizes bubble-tight zero leakage under rated working pressure. This valve is only applied for fully open or fully closed fluid cut-off, and not recommended for flow adjustment.
Two common structural styles are supplied: rising stem type and non-rising stem type. The internal flow channel is straight-through without contraction, featuring low flow resistance and effectively preventing sediment from accumulating in the valve cavity. It can be installed in valve wells or buried directly underground, maintaining stable long-term operation.
Working Principle
Rotating the top handwheel drives the internal wedge gate to move vertically up and down to switch pipeline fluid on and off. When the valve is closed, the elastic rubber layer on the gate closely fits the valve body sealing surface under medium pressure to form a flexible sealing surface and completely block liquid circulation. When fully opened, the gate rises into the upper bonnet cavity, leaving an unobstructed straight passage to reduce pump energy consumption.
Stem packing components are arranged at the bonnet top to prevent medium leakage along the valve stem. Internal guide ribs restrict horizontal offset of the gate during movement, ensuring smooth opening and closing without jamming.
Core Advantages
Integral elastic rubber lining achieves reliable soft sealing with no dripping leakage, compliant with drinking water safety standards.
Full straight bore structure reduces fluid resistance and avoids sludge deposition inside the valve body.
Ductile iron valve body with internal and external epoxy coating provides excellent rust and corrosion resistance for underground burial.
Vulcanized elastic wedge gate boasts outstanding wear resistance and anti-aging performance, compatible with clean water, reclaimed water and neutral wastewater.
Simple internal structure with few wearing parts, convenient for on-site disassembly, inspection and routine maintenance without special tools.
Visible opening and closing indicator on the bonnet clearly displays valve working status for easy operation management.
Supports horizontal and vertical installation, adaptable to various pipeline layout conditions.
Main Materials
Valve body and bonnet are manufactured from high-toughness ductile iron, coated with fusion bonded epoxy powder both inside and outside to resist soil, moisture and medium erosion. The wedge gate takes ductile iron as the substrate, with food-grade EPDM elastic rubber fully vulcanized on its surface, featuring high elasticity and long service life. The valve stem is stainless steel for anti-rust and wear-resistant performance, matched with durable EPDM packing to prevent stem leakage. All connecting fasteners are stainless steel to avoid rust locking after years of underground service.
Technical Specifications
Nominal diameter ranges from DN50 to DN1200 to meet different flow demands. Standard pressure grades include PN10 and PN16, while PN25 high-pressure specifications can be customized upon request. Flange connections follow international general standards for easy matching with standard pipeline fittings. Applicable medium temperature is between -10°C and 70°C. Suitable media cover municipal tap water, domestic sewage, agricultural irrigation water, industrial circulating water and other low-corrosion neutral liquids. Every finished valve passes strict shell strength and sealing hydraulic tests before delivery to guarantee stable performance.
Application Range
Elastic seat gate valve is the standard cut-off equipment for municipal water supply pipe networks, urban buried drainage pipelines, farmland irrigation projects, pump station supporting pipelines, water treatment stations, residential water supply and fire-fighting water systems. It is widely used in above-ground and underground pipeline projects for fluid isolation and pipeline overhaul.
